Gary Michelson's bill AB 2343 dropped! Thank god.

This bill was a huge mistake made by Dr Gary Michelson and Aimee Gilbreath. I think the others were sucked into it under false pretenses. Fortunately all the main groups were against it as written. Too many loopholes. Not enough safeguards.

I can't find the text yet. I just heard this from a few people.

Here it is on Gary Michelson's personal friend Wayne Pacelle's FB. It died because it was poorly written. There were loopholes. People could have lost their cats if shelters instantly gave them away to other groups. These cats given to other groups could have and most likely would have ended up dumped outside in colonies with no protection from the elements, no veterinary care, no protection from disease, cat fights or predation by other animals. How is that humane? It's not. I've seen these colonies. People dump a cat and they count it as "saved." It's not saved. It will die slowly.

It fell victim to internal strife within our movement, partly because of misrepresentations or, in some cases, a failure to take a close look at the details. We cannot let these divisions halt progress. We've got to find a common path forward and focus on solving a problem that results in far too many deaths in shelters."
